La Masia
This beautifully restored C16th manor house still boasts traditional vaulted ceilings, wooden beams and stone work, while including most modern comforts; (5 hob cooker, large oven, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, washing machine, dryer, Wifi and TV).
The house was built to be fantastically cool in summer with thick stone walls. It has large, clean rooms filled with beautiful, antique French furniture. Bookcases, paintings and some colourful 70s tiling in two of the bathrooms give the house its quirk and charm.
The Bedrooms
A great night's sleep can be enjoyed in all the comfortable rooms.
On the first floor, the master bedroom has an en suite bathroom, a super king sley bed, beautiful antique French furniture and a large comfortable bathroom with a rain shower and big bath.
Two double bedrooms, one with a fourposter and one with another super kingsize bed share a bathroom that ajoins both rooms.
A twin bedroom also has an en suite bathroom.
In the spacious attic, two adjoining rooms, that are open to each other, have small double beds. There are 3 extra, single beds and they share a shower and loo. A great floor for kids or to have as a whole suite.
All the bedrooms have standing fans, towels and pool towels.
The décor is light and discerning.
The Kitchen and Dining Areas
A fully equipped kitchen leads onto a castle-esque, stone dining room which can seat up to 24 for majestic suppers.
The kitchen's north end opens out onto a raised garden terrace with both a barbeque and a wood burning oven, fantastic for pizzas and roasts.
The teak dining table seats 12 and is surrounded by herbs, lavender, bay and walnut trees and an old roman well.
The Snug
The downstairs is cool, cosy and cavernous.
There is a small snug, lined with bookcases, where you can watch TV. It has a lovely fire with an inbuilt guard.
The Grand Salon
The upstairs sitting room is magnificent.
A massive, vaulted ceiling houses 3 sofas around a large open fire.
The atmosphere is warm and appealing.
The Upper Terrace
An outside terrace, with shaded seating, looks south onto the terracotta tiled roofs of the barn and over into the donkey’s meadow. A fantastic place to watch sunsets and star studded skies with our telescope or set up an easle and paint the view.
The Cloakroom
There is a downstairs loo, cold shower and ample space for outdoor clothes and toys in a large cloakroom by the utility cupboard with a washing machine and dryer.
